Women In Cyber Security


Women In Cyber Security (WICS) is an initiative by RedTeam Hacker Academy which envisions a more diverse cyber security workforce by empowering the ladies representation within the field. In 2016, the founder and director of RedTeam, Mr. Jaizal Ali launched this great initiative with an aim of creating a meaningful impact on the ladies representation in cybersecurity industry. “We need a more diverse cyber security workforce which may cause more diverse perspectives and innovations. Infact women are more ready to contribute powerful and artistic view points and perspectives than men which may play very crucial roles within the growth of a corporation . it's time to fill this existing talent vacuum within the cyber security industry and that we are playing our part for that”. Says Jaizal Ali. Nationally and internationally recognized leading female cyber security experts like Sneha Rajguru and Parry Afthab came forward offering their support for the initiative. 

Journey of Wics Community Kerala

 
The journey of WICS thus far has been very successful which could mark a milestone by its remarkable influences on the whole cybersecurity industry in Kerala. WICS has conducted many events all across Kerala within this short span of your time with internationally recognized female cyber security experts as guests and thousands of participants. “it makes us really happy and proud that our activities could attract and nurture the simplest women talents in kerala and give the inspiration and courage for several girls out there to return into this industry”. Women In Cyber Security | WICS Community      The newest generation of professional entrants into cybersecurity is decidedly more female than within the past. 45 percent of women surveyed are millennials, compared to just 33 percent of men. While just 24 percent of the industry is female today, this may change the face of the cyber security profession within the years to return. Women also bring prominent levels of education to cyber security. More women (52 percent) within the survey hold a post-graduate degree than their male counterparts (44 percent).       The report also found that although men still exceeded women in cyber security by about three to at least one overall, women within the field are advancing to leadership positions.
